Off Work Everyday is the first music and art collaboration with my DJ friend SHUN, which is a part of Shun’s City Pop music series, for which I illustrated all the digital album covers. The project was born during the pandemic, with the hope of bringing comfort and joy to those feeling frustrated, anxious, or helpless.
The series consists of eight digital albums—representing the seven days of the week plus one “bonus” day. Each illustration explores the fusion of two parallel worlds: the background captures real Japanese landscapes, while framed panels reveal fleeting, dreamlike moments connected to those places. Subtle visual cues bridge these two dimensions, creating a sense of harmony between reality and imagination.
Drawing inspiration from my memories of traveling in Japan, the series evokes nostalgia and serenity. Ultimately, Off Work Everyday aims to remind viewers to pause, relax, and find small moments of happiness—free from anxiety and insomnia—through the soothing blend of art and music.
