I adopt the concept and art style of my series “Off Work” to this cover design. The theme is to embrace a relaxing moment while immersing yourself into this simple but pleasing view. Considering this collaborate, I choose to combine two different city views with their characteristics in a harmonious way. In this visual, from left to right, it shows the typical street view in Shanghai, my home town and the one in Malaysia. The one is my familiar place whereas the other one is where I want to explore.

The theme is “Off Work in Bookstores”. Off Work in Bookstores is part of my ongoing Off Work music and art series. In this piece, I illustrated twelve independent bookstores—each representing a month of the year—to celebrate the quiet beauty of reading and relaxation. The cover visual is one of the bookstores. The Off Work project began during the pandemic as a creative collaboration with DJ Shun, combining illustration and City Pop music to bring moments of comfort and joy to those feeling frustrated or helpless. Because KLABF focuses on prints and books, this bookstore theme also resonates with that.
